Khaberni - The military court in Lebanon is preparing to start the trial of the artist Fadel Shaker, in four official lawsuits filed against him, related to terrorism.
The trial of Fadel Shaker is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 25 (November), on four charges related to belonging to an armed organization and financing Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir's group, in addition to possessing unlicensed weapons and attempts to undermine the authority of the state and its prestige.
This comes after Shaker surrendered himself to the Lebanese army in early October (October) last year, after disappearing for more than a decade inside the Ain el-Hilweh refugee camp in Sidon, where he had been sentenced to prison on charges related to terrorism.
The military court had issued a verdict in 2017 sentencing Shaker to 15 years in prison with hard labor, and he was also stripped of his civil rights, due to his participation in the clashes that occurred in the Ain al-Hilweh camp in 2013 between the Lebanese army forces and supporters of Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir.
Those confrontations resulted in the deaths of 18 soldiers and 11 militants, before the army took control of the complex that al-Assir and his supporters had used as their headquarters, including Fadel Shaker, who remained hidden after those events until his last surrender.
