Khaberni - In his first appearance after leaving the hospital and recovering, the artist Mohamed Sobhi went live on his official Facebook account, sending a message of thanks to his audience and the state, revealing the behind-the-scenes of his illness and the details of his return to theater and drama and his anticipated works.
Sobhi started his talk by thanking his audience, saying: "The thanks go to the millions of my fans, and I want to thank the state and thank the government."
Sobhi clarified that he was not treated at the state’s expense, saying: "I was not treated at the state’s expense, and even if that had happened, I would have donated the amount to those who deserve it more than me."
About the details of his illness, Sobhi said that he went through a health setback, which is something that affects any human being, adding: "Death is a right upon us, and every person has a moment when they submit themselves, and God created the universe to be a place that contains His creation."
Death rumor
The Egyptian artist then addressed the rumor of his death that was published by a state-owned Egyptian newspaper, as he claimed, urging the public to be cautious before believing the death news of any artist, until an obituary is issued from the actors' guild, or the cinema or music union in Egypt.
Regarding the developments of his health condition, Sobhi explained that he is still receiving treatment, and is currently in a convalescence period, but he is happy with his recovery and return to his audience.
Tragic events
Sobhi also discussed a series of consecutive events he recently experienced; like the fire at his theater in the city of "Senbal," which he said swallowed up the most expensive theater equipment, from lighting, computers, and media that stored the recorded materials from his latest play "Fares Reveals the Hidden", as well as his house fire.
New Works
Mohamed Sobhi revealed that he is preparing to return to the stage, as well as participate in a new series he believes "it's about time," having prepared it three years ago, tentatively titled "The Billion Journey," to be directed by Amro Abedin.
Sobhi hopes that the Egyptian Television would intervene to produce the new series, as "other channels would not welcome that."
He also revealed preparations for the third part of the program "No Problem at All."
He also talked about his preparations for a tribute event by the "Union of Arab Creators" at his theater in the city of "Senbal," on November 26th (this month).
Mohamed Sobhi concluded his talk by affirming that what he is going through pushes him to create rather than to retreat, and that his upcoming return will reflect reality and its issues, and carry humanitarian messages as his audience has always known from him throughout his long career.
