The couple will be the main sponsors of the event, which gives them the ability to determine the most prominent attendees, in an event where a single ticket costs $75,000.
Among the potential names to attend the event are prominent figures such as Bill Gates, Tom Brady, Oprah Winfrey, all of whom had attended the lavish wedding of Bezos and Sanchez in Venice.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has revealed the theme of the 2026 gala, titled "The Art of Fashion", which focuses on the deep relationship between the human body and clothing throughout history, as a form of embodied art, inherently linked to humanity.
Accompanying the event, the exhibition aims to highlight this idea, set to open on May 10th, 2026. It will feature approximately 200 artworks alongside 200 pieces of clothing and accessories, in an experience that recaptures the essence of fashion as an art form intertwined with everyday life and human emotion.
Andrew Bolton, the curator of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan, said that the aim of the exhibition is to emphasize that fashion is not a separate or marginal art form, but is one of the forms of human expression connected to the body, just like sculptures and classic reliefs.
