AlBashir Hospitals Conduct the First Laparoscopic Cervical Cerclage

Khaberni - Al-Bashir Hospitals announced a distinctive medical accomplishment, represented by the success of the gynecology and obstetrics team at the Women's and Children's Hospital, led by Dr. Ammar Hamam, a specialist in gynecology, obstetrics, and advanced laparoscopic surgery, in performing the first laparoscopic abdominal cervical cerclage in the Ministry of Health hospitals.
According to a statement from the hospitals' administration today, Wednesday, this procedure is among the rare procedures globally, which requires superior expertise and high precision. It targets cases of recurrent miscarriages in the second trimester after the failure of traditional cerclage, where the suture is placed higher than usual, and by abdominal laparoscopy, to remain for life, allowing the patient to safely complete the pregnancy.

The statement pointed out that this achievement reflects the leadership level achieved by Al-Bashir hospitals, and their ability to provide specialized advanced healthcare comparable to major medical centers, confirming that excellence has become a permanent approach in their health and therapeutic system.
