Jordan renews the need to establish and maintain the ceasefire in Gaza and adherence to the terms of the agreement

Khaberni - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, affirmed the full support of the council behind the efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II in defending the issues of the nation, especially the Palestinian issue.

Al-Qadi made these remarks during his chairing part of a meeting held by the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, where recent developments and changes on the regional and international scenes were discussed.

Al-Qadi valued the efforts of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Haitham Ziadine, and its members, in holding quality meetings that reflect the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and its role in conveying the message of the Jordanian state and defending its positions in various forums.

Al-Qadi emphasized that the Palestinian issue is at the top of Jordan's foreign policy priorities, noting that His Majesty the King leads an ongoing international effort to end the occupation and achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, rejecting all displacement attempts, and confirming that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve a fair and lasting peace.

Al-Qadi firmly rejected any attempts to displace the Palestinian brothers from Gaza or the West Bank, reiterating Jordan’s historical commitment to the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as a historical and legitimate responsibility that is non-negotiable.

From his part, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, MP Haitham Ziadine, stated that the committee reaffirms its steadfast support behind the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, expressing pride in His Majesty’s firm and international political positions that serve the nation and enhance its comprehensive journey.

Ziadine added that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, is moving forward with confidence and determination towards more achievements, based on a deep vision and firm positions regarding various Arab, regional, and international issues, particularly the Palestinian issue, embodying Jordan's pioneering role and commitment to supporting security, stability, and peace in the region.

Meanwhile, the members of the committee stressed the importance and effectiveness of Jordan's role in supporting the Palestinian brothers until they obtain their legitimate rights on their national soil.

The Foreign Minister reviewed the efforts of Jordanian diplomacy led by His Majesty King Abdullah II in serving Jordan’s national interests and its efforts regarding Arab issues and regional developments in the area, especially the Palestinian issue.

Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's steadfast position in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to end the occupation and achieve freedom and the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the two-state solution.

Safadi renewed the need to establish and adhere to a ceasefire in Gaza and the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement terms, necessity of Israel performing its commitments according to the agreement and international law, and immediately lifting all restrictions imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid in a sufficient and sustainable manner into the sector that continues to suffer from an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, promoting reconstruction in Gaza, preventing displacement, and initiating a genuine path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Safadi also referred to the continued efforts by Jordan, in coordination with Arab partners and allies, to halt the serious escalation and unilateral Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, and affirmed Jordan's ongoing role in protecting and caring for the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, stemming from the historical Hashemite custodianship over them.

Regarding the developments in Syria, Safadi reiterated His Majesty the King's continuous directives on the need to support sisterly Syria in the rebuilding process based on foundations that ensure its unity, sovereignty, stability, security, territorial integrity, and the wellbeing of its citizens.

Safadi stressed that Jordan deals with regional and international issues and approaches the changes occurring in the region according to a policy clear in its constants, principles, and goals, yet flexible in the tools it employs to serve Jordan’s interests, security, stability, and Arab issues.

Safadi reiterated the Jordanian diplomacy’s focus on serving Jordan's political, economic, investment, trade, and other fields' interests to contribute to the development journey, in addition to providing the best services to Jordanian citizens abroad, which is a priority for the ministry.
