Khaberni - The Middle East University hosted the former Prime Minister Dr. Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh during the Middle East Dialogues event titled: "Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh… My Journey", with the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Yaacoub Nasser Al-Din, the University President, Professor Dr. Salam Mahadeen, the Vice President, Professor Dr. Ahmad Al Lozi, member of parliament, Professor Dr. Tamara Nasser Al-Din, and the former Minister of Labor, Dr. Nadia Rawabdeh, along with members of the faculty and administrative staff at the university.
In his speech, Dr. Nasser Al-Din praised Rawabdeh's journey, describing it as an inspiring model in leadership and knowledge, emphasizing that recalling the past is necessary for explaining the present and building the future, and that Rawabdeh represents a national school rich in experiences worth reflecting on and learning from.
During the dialogue, moderated by media expert Professor Dr. Hani Al Badri, a member of the Faculty of Media, Rawabdeh expressed his happiness in meeting the university students, affirming his pride in the role of Middle East University in entrenching values of national dialogue.
Rawabdeh reviewed key milestones of his professional and political career and his extended experience in public service, addressing the major challenges and achievements that marked his career in various leadership positions. He presented deep analytical insights based on his extensive experience in state institutions, affirming that his journey was based on diligence, seriousness, and the continuous search for knowledge, from his upbringing to his service in various state positions. He also emphasized the constants of the Jordanian approach in governance and management, and the importance of instilling values of belonging, moderation, and responsibility in the consciousness of future generations.
Rawabdeh emphasized the importance of science and investing in it as the most successful pathway to building nations, pointing out that national responsibility begins from an individual's awareness of their role and understanding that a job is not a personal privilege, but a duty to serve the nation and its citizens. He added that the pursuit of knowledge represents the cornerstone in the advancement of nations and building humans capable of development and influence.
Rawabdeh stressed that the citizen is the foundation of the nation's strength, and that investing in science is the most important way to enhance this strength, noting that differing from governments is natural, while the state remains the constant that must be preserved and its stability protected. He also highlighted the importance of protecting the nation and clinging to its identity as a shared and indivisible responsibility.
In conclusion of the session, an extensive discussion took place between Rawabdeh and the students, addressing a set of the most prominent issues on the Jordanian scene, in addition to issues of interest to the youth and their role in shaping the future. The students expressed their appreciation for the rich experience presented by Rawabdeh and their benefit from his vision and inspiring experiences.
