Khaberni - A hotel in China has launched a unique service allowing guests to receive lion cubs in their rooms during the morning hours, as part of entertainment offers aimed at attracting visitors and standing out from traditional tourist facilities.
The Chinese newspaper People's Daily reported that a video spread on social media showed an employee of the Happy Countryside Resort in Niugiao village in Suqian city, Jiangsu province, entering a room with a small lion cub, where a child guest held and played with it.
The resort includes 20 rooms, and the lion cub reception sessions are held daily between 8:00 and 10:00 am, with each session lasting about seven minutes. Guests must sign a special agreement for the service, and the hotel ensures that the lion cub is always accompanied by a specialized guard to ensure guest safety.
One of the hotel employees explained that the service is legal, and that the establishment is registered with the relevant authorities, noting that bookings are full until the end of the current month.
This experience has generated significant interaction on social media, with some considering it an enjoyable entertainment activity especially for children, while others expressed concerns about dealing with wild animals.
It should be noted that some Chinese hotels have, in recent years, been moving towards offering innovative services to attract tourists, including activities involving animals or entertainment shows tailored for families and children, aimed at boosting attendance and increasing revenues.
