Khaberni - Turkish star Beren Saat returns to the cinema after a nearly 12-year hiatus through the new film "The Secret File" (Gizli Profil), which is scheduled to be released soon in theaters before it is streamed on a digital platform, amid expectations of it achieving widespread popularity due to the boldness of its content and scenes.
Beren Saat is known in the Arab world as "Samar" in the series "Forbidden Love". Her last cinematic participation was in the 2013 movie "My World", where she portrayed a character suffering from visual impairment, before she later withdrew from TV series and settled for years with digital projects, only to return today to the silver screen through this new work.
The story of "The Secret File"
"The Secret File" revolves around one of Turkey's most famous investigative journalists and focuses on a complex relationship between two women based on power, trust, and identity, presenting a tale of friendship, transformation, and the disappearance of personal boundaries.
Beren Saat plays the journalist "Rengin", who during her investigation into a pivotal case for her new series makes a deal with "Zeyno" in a situation where she is forced to hide her identity. The lives and environments of Zeyno and Rengin are radically different from each other, creating between them a strong yet fragile bond. As their paths continue to intersect, each finds herself compelled to confront hidden truths in her life.
Release date of "The Secret File"
The film is officially scheduled to be screened in cinemas starting December 19, 2025. The initial plan was to launch the work directly via the Prime Video platform, before the production company revised its strategy and decided to grant it a full cinematic release.
