Khaberni - The industrial designer who was responsible for the iPhone Air phones took a surprising step for the company's management and its entire design team, as he was one of the rising stars in the team according to a "Bloomberg" report.

Apple had placed its trust in designer Abidor Choudry who was part of the team that developed the iPhone Air to such an extent that he was featured in the promotional clip revealing the phone, which is considered a high-level task within the company.

While Apple declined to comment on Choudry’s departure from its design team, informed sources confirmed to "Bloomberg" that Choudry had left his position heading to a startup AI company.

Choudry had spent more than 6 years at Apple, having joined in 2019 coincidentally with Jony Ive leaving his position as head of the design department.

The report confirms his departure from the company is not related to the performance of the "iPhone Air" or its poor sales, as the company plans to launch the next generation in 2027 instead of 2026.

The "iPhone Air" faced disappointing sales in most global markets to the extent that Apple decided to significantly reduce the phone's production before postponing the launch of its next generation, and poor sales are attributed to the sacrifices the company had to make in the phone's specifications to make it this thin.

It is noted that the design department team has changed significantly since Jony Ive's departure, now consisting today of several new employees coming from various design sectors, as the old employees either joined "Lovefrom" founded by Jony Ive or contracted completely.

Currently, the Apple design team does not have a department head, working directly under Tim Cook the CEO of Apple, following Jeff Williams, who held the position of Chief Operating Officer, leaving last week.

Apple is expecting in the upcoming period Tim Cook’s departure from his role as CEO and handing over control to the new leader of the company who is still unknown at this time.
