Khaberni - Social media witnessed, over the past few hours, the wide spread of an impactful video showing a little girl stopping a robbery attempt, after she offered "a piece of candy" to an armed thief who entered her father's store in Pakistan.
The clip spread as if it was from a surveillance camera inside a store, showing the shop owner sitting behind the counter with his four or five-year-old daughter before an armed man enters and threatens the shop owner, demanding money and a phone.
At that moment, the girl extended a "lollipop" towards the thief, suddenly changing his behavior, he returned what he took and then left the place without harming anyone, and the video garnered millions of views within hours, with hundreds of thousands interacting, expressing their amazement at the "power of children's innocence".
Consequently, a Pakistani site titled "The Current" conducted an extensive investigation to verify the origin of the clip, and revealed that the video is not real and was produced as a staged scene. It turns out that the clip was originally posted on a YouTube channel called "Karmann Team," which has over 80,000 subscribers and features more than 172 clips designed in the same manner.
The verification revealed that the same store shown in the circulated clip appeared in other videos on the channel, and it was found that the same people were used in several parts, in addition to a plastic gun that had appeared previously in other recordings.
