Khaberni - The Red Cross representative in Africa stated that 80% of health facilities are out of service in Sudan.
He clarified in a press statement, today on Tuesday, that more than 100,000 Sudanese from Al-Fashir city in Darfur region, western Sudan, have been displaced to nearby areas, and that children and the displaced suffer from severe malnutrition.
It is worth mentioning that 12 million people in Sudan have been displaced from their homes, constituting the largest displacement crisis in the world, according to recent reports by the United Nations.
Earlier, the emergency coordinator for the World Food Programme for the Sudan crisis, Sean Hughes described the tragic situation in Sudan as the largest humanitarian crisis in the world by all standards, with about 25 million people, or half of the population, facing severe hunger, and nearly five million children and mothers suffering from severe malnutrition.
