Khaberni - Following the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of Amman Arab University, and in line with the university's vision to enhance communication between the academic staff and students, the College of Engineering held an orientation meeting that gathered Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, the Dean of the College, heads of academic departments, and members of both teaching and administrative bodies with students from various academic years, aiming to support their academic journey and guide them towards excellence and success.
Dr. Al-Assaf opened the meeting with a welcoming speech to the new students and outlined the objectives and main topics of the meeting, which included an introduction to the College of Engineering, its three academic programs, and the course registration procedure, as well as an introduction to the academic and administrative staff, explaining the blended material teaching methods and e-learning mechanisms, while emphasizing the importance of attending face-to-face lectures and regularly following online education.
The meeting provided a comprehensive explanation of the learning outcomes of the courses, which are distributed across three main axes: knowledge, abilities, and skills, highlighting the need for students to focus on these to achieve the best academic performance levels. Dr. Al-Assaf also emphasized the importance of practical and field training, reviewed the academic and career paths for the engineering majors in line with market needs, and showcased extracurricular events and student activities conducted by the College, such as the Jordanian project in aviation safety and associated free courses.
During the meeting, the forthcoming graduates were advised on the necessity of proper preparation for the university competency exam and to continue preparing for it to ensure the best results, while new student opinions and comments were heard, reaffirming the college’s commitment to fostering a university environment based on dialogue and constructive interaction between students and academic and administrative staff.
This meeting is part of a series of orientation meetings organized by the College of Engineering at Amman Arab University, aimed at integrating students into university life and enhancing their affiliation with the academic institution, in addition to acquainting them with their academic and professional paths, preparing them for efficient and competent engagement in the job market.
