Khaberni - Professor Ahmed Al-Salman, from the Department of Mathematics at Yarmouk University College of Science, has solved a mathematical problem that has been open since 1992.
The solution of this equation is the fruit of more than twenty-seven years of research effort, which contributed to discussing and solving part of one of the most formidable problems in harmonic analysis, as the problem posed a challenge to leading mathematicians over the past decades.
Al-Salman pointed out that the ideas and methods presented in this research are expected to contribute to the development of studies on Rough Oscillatory Singular Integral Operators and open new horizons in this vital field of harmonic analysis, which will serve as an incentive for researchers and graduate students for further research and investigation in this important branch of mathematics.
Al-Salman noted that this scientific achievement was published in one of the prestigious mathematics journals (Forum Mathematicum) under the title (On Rough Oscillatory Singular Integral Operators).
The dean of the college, Professor Muhib Awad, praised this outstanding scientific achievement by "Al-Salman", which reflects the distinction of the College of Science and its inclusion of outstanding national, Arab, and international scientific figures, positively influencing the development of the college's scientific and research journey in various science disciplines.
It's worth mentioning that Al-Salman has been a member of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) since 2019, aiming to promote scientific capacities and excellence for sustainable development in the third world countries, and Al-Salman’s membership was selected due to his valuable scientific contributions in mathematics.
