A Passenger Forcing an Emergency Plane Landing After a Serious Accusation Against His Wife

Khaberni - In a shocking incident, a United Airlines aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in St. Louis after a passenger reported to the crew that his wife was carrying a bomb in her bag.

The flight number 380 was heading from Dallas to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, before the pilot decided to divert its route to Lambert International Airport in St. Louis around 8:39 AM local time.

According to People magazine, the passenger who made the claims was arrested immediately upon landing, while security teams swept the plane using bomb-sniffing dogs, and all passengers totaling 119 and a crew of five were forced to leave the aircraft during the inspection process.

United Airlines stated in a release that the plane "landed safely to address potential security concerns," and that authorities inspected the aircraft and declared it free of any threats, allowing it to resume its journey to Chicago after a delay exceeding five hours.

The St. Louis police confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took charge of investigating the incident, without disclosing further details.

In recent months, the United States witnessed several false reports of explosives on board commercial flights, the latest of which in September when a woman was arrested after a similar threat on a flight from Nashville to Denver, as well as an incident in July after a passenger claimed his mobile device contained a bomb, before it was confirmed that there were no dangerous materials involved.
