Khaberni - The Indian state of Gujarat witnessed a tragic incident after a young man assaulted his fiancée inside her family's home, leading to her death just hours before their wedding ceremony, then he fled from the scene.

The authorities explained that the incident occurred after an argument between the bride, Sony Hima Ratoud, 22, and her fiancé, Sajan Khajna Paraya, 26, over money and the traditional wedding dress (panetar), which escalated into a violent assault where the young man used an iron rod and struck the bride's head against the wall, resulting in her immediate death.

The initial police investigations revealed that the young man and the woman had been in a relationship for a year and a half, and not all family members approved of their union, but after relatives intervened, it was agreed to proceed with the marriage on November 15.

On Saturday morning, just hours before the wedding was to be completed, her fiancé came to her family's house and the argument that ended in the crime took place.

When the family woke up to the noise, they found the bride murdered, immediately contacted the police, and a force from the Ganga Jalia police station moved to the house, and the victim's body was sent to the morgue for a medical examination.

The police indicated that the suspect was recorded in several previous cases including attempted murder, assault, and theft, and that the security forces continue to search for him, while a formal report of the incident is currently being recorded.
