Khaberni - The House of Representatives holds a legislative session on Monday to discuss a number of laws submitted by the government, including the amendment bill for the Military Service and 2025 Reserve Service Law, granting it urgent consideration.

His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, announced last August the reactivation of the military service program soon, during his meeting with young men and women from Irbid Governorate.

Prime Minister Jafar Hassan confirmed that the military service and reserve service bill will be among the government's legislative priorities in the upcoming period, in preparation for the start of the military service program announced by His Highness the Crown Prince at the beginning of February next year.

The enactment of the bill completes the legislative procedures related to reactivating the military service program, to be implemented at the beginning of February next year, following the announcement by His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, of the decision to return to military service.

The bill organizes the provisions related to some legal requirements newly needed to activate and implement the military service program, the acceptable cases for its postponement, and enabling the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army to offer training programs in the armed forces centers and institutes to the conscripts, allowing educational institutions concerned to count them as part of the university students’ study requirements in accordance with instructions issued by the Council of Ministers for this purpose, and also to count them as part of the requirements and duties of military service.

The bill also includes canceling the provisions that grant conscripts who complete military service any priority in appointments in ministries, departments, government institutions, companies, and private institutions.

The council also discusses; government submissions including bill amendments: for the Official Gazette Law for the year 2025, for the Electronic Transactions Law for the year 2025, and for the Notary Public Law for the year 2025.

Also discussed; an amended bill for the Waqf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites Law for the year 2025, and an amended bill for the Shari'a Enforcement Law for the year 2025.
