Khaberni - The factions and Palestinian forces warned in a political memo they issued about the dangers of the American resolution proposed for voting in the Security Council, specifically concerning the establishment of an international force in Gaza, considering it an attempt to impose international guardianship over the region and to pass a vision biased towards the occupation.
The factions stated in their announcement on Sunday that the proposed draft paves the way for foreign dominance over the Palestinian national decision, by transferring the administration of Gaza and its reconstruction to a supranational international entity with extensive powers, thereby stripping Palestinians of their right to manage their own affairs.
They emphasized that any humanitarian effort must be managed through the specialized Palestinian institutions, under the supervision of the United Nations and the relevant international bodies, and must be based on respect for Palestinian sovereignty and the needs of the population, away from any political or security utilization of the aid or its use in re-engineering the reality in Gaza.
The memo warned against transforming humanitarian aid into a tool of pressure and blackmail, subjected to foreign management, which marginalizes Palestinian institutions and undermines UNRWA's work, which the factions stressed the importance of maintaining its role as a global witness to the refugees' cause and their established rights.
The factions also emphasized their rejection of any clause concerning the disarmament of Gaza or infringing on the Palestinian people's right to resist and defend themselves, affirming that this right is established and internationally guaranteed, and any discussion on the armament issue must remain a national internal affair tied to a political path that ensures the end of the occupation and the establishment of the state and the realization of self-determination.
The memo criticized the proposed role of the international force, considering it practically transforms it into an entity serving the occupation through direct coordination with it. It confirmed that any international force, if established, must be fully subject to the mandate and direct supervision of the United Nations, work exclusively in coordination with the official Palestinian institutions, without involving the occupation or granting it any powers or field coordination, and its tasks must be limited to protecting civilians, ensuring the flow of aid, and separating the forces without turning into a security authority or supranational administration.
The memo also affirmed the rejection of any guardianship or foreign military presence, or the establishment of international bases inside the Gaza Strip, as it directly impacts national sovereignty.
The factions called for international monitoring mechanisms to hold "Israel" accountable for its ongoing violations and to make it responsible for the safety of civilians and the starvation of the population as a result of its control over Gaza's crossings.
It concluded by affirming that the proposed Arab-Islamic model for managing the sector represents the most acceptable option, and any arrangements concerning Gaza must be based on the free Palestinian will and the unity of the land, people, and cause.
