Khaberni - Email services usually allow sending attachments of 20 or 25 megabytes, therefore, users need to look for other alternatives when wanting to share large files.
According to a report by the German news agency, users can upload such files to cloud computing services like Apple iCloud, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive, then copy the download link and send it via email.
In addition to using file transfer services which do not require creating a user account or logging in. However, users often lose the data and the download link after several days.
Data Encryption
The German Product Testing Authority explained that when choosing such services, it is best to rely on the service that provides full encryption of data, which can be used without revealing user identity.
The Dutch "Consumers' Association" tested 11 free file transfer services, and test results showed that the best file transfer service is "KPN Secure File Transfer" from the Netherlands, which allows transferring files up to 4 gigabytes, followed by the Swiss service Tresorit Send, which allows transferring 5 gigabytes of files.
These services store data for a maximum period of 7 days and provide comprehensive encryption to protect the data, and can be used while hiding identity. However, many other services require an email address, and sometimes the recipient's email address.
7-Zip Software
If a user needs to use a file transfer service that does not offer data encryption or needs to send sensitive information by email, they can encrypt the data themselves using the free 7-Zip software.
This program can encrypt data and secure it with a password while compressing the files. Of course, the user must communicate the password securely to the recipient, for example by phone, or agree on a "permanent password" with those to whom they frequently send zip files.
