Oppo Imitates Apples Liquid Glass Display Feature

Khaberni - It seems that Apple is getting ready to launch a new design wave in the world of smartphones, even before the official announcement, with leaks indicating an innovative screen technology named “Liquid Glass Display”, which has already begun to attract the interest of competitors.

According to circulating information, Apple intends to introduce this technology in its anticipated iPhone 20 Pro, in a step that might surpass the iPhone 19’s release.

The idea relies on designing a screen whose edges flow smoothly inside the device's frame, providing an almost bezel-free experience, without affecting the display of content as was the case with some previous curved screens, according to a report published by "phonearena" which was viewed by "Alarabiya Business".

The company is also working on integrating facial recognition technology Face ID and the front camera beneath the screen, in an effort to eliminate any openings or protrusions, despite the technical challenges associated with maintaining performance and efficiency.

"Oppo" moves early
In a sign of the rapid transfer of ideas within the sector, reports have revealed that Oppo is already working on developing a similar display for its upcoming flagship phones, focusing on a semi-flat surface and very slightly curved edges, giving a sensation that the screen floats above the device.

Imitation or natural evolution?
This development is not new to the phone industry, as companies have been accustomed to drawing inspiration from each other's designs, especially when it comes to innovations that offer a different user experience.

Indeed, Apple’s products, from device designs to system interfaces, have inspired many competitors over the years.

Despite repeated criticism of the imitation phenomenon, it often contributes to providing advanced technologies at lower prices, which expands their accessibility among users.

A potential end to the notch era
These trends come at a time when user rejection of screen features like “the notch” and holes, which have become a common feature in modern phones, is increasing.

And if Apple succeeds in presenting a screen completely free of any cutouts, it could pave the way for a new design phase, even if competitors quickly follow the same approach.
