9493 Labor Complaints via Platform in Jordan

Khaberni - The total number of complaints submitted on the "Protection" platform administered by the Ministry of Labor by the end of last October was 9493, according to a report by the ministry's inspection directorates and departments.

According to the report, monitored by "Al-Mamlaka", the Ministry of Labor's inspection directorates conducted extensive inspection visits to 26,071 establishments in various provinces of the kingdom during the period from January 1 to October 31, 2025.

The Protection platform receives labor complaints, child labor complaints, and complaints from domestic workers, as the report indicated that 19 targeted inspection campaigns were carried out for specific economic sectors.

The report clarified that the number of complaints resolved during the first ten months of the current year reached 3152 out of 4451, including 973 violations directed at establishments, and 326 labor complaints still in progress.

"Not paying wages" topped the labor complaints with a total of 3488 complaints during the first ten months, followed by not granting a certificate of experience with 606 complaints, then termination of service for an indefinite or oral contract or lack of contract with 556 complaints, then a complaint "objection to a legal procedure from the institution" with 541 complaints, and "suspending the worker from work" with 481 complaints.

Meanwhile, the ministry has not received any complaints since the beginning of the year regarding "forcing a worker to resign," "reporting foreign labor," and "not giving end of service benefits / savings fund."

The ministry received 92 complaints regarding child labor since the beginning of the current year, with 78 of those complaints resolved, while there were 154 cases of child labor complaints during inspection visits to 6041 establishments.

The ministry issued 37 warnings and 85 violations to employers for employing children since the beginning of the current year, according to the ministry, which clarified that the numbers of violations and warnings related to reducing child labor are part of the total number of violations and warnings.

According to the report, the number of establishments visited during October was 2,434, while July was the highest in the number of visits during the year with 3,051 establishments visited, and the least in April with 2,236 establishments visited.

The report recorded 5429 violations since the beginning of the year, with the highest number in January at 1142 violations, while the number of violations significantly decreased in the last reported October, recording only 271 violations.

As for the issued warnings, they totaled 7291 during the same period. November saw the highest number of warnings with 966, compared to 362 warnings in January, which was the lowest within the first quarter.
