Khaberni - The Traffic Department in the Public Security Directorate has confirmed that the stopping distance for vehicles significantly increases during rainfall, and may double compared to dry conditions, even if the brakes are in excellent condition.
It further explained that driving at high speed with water on the road requires a much longer distance for safe stopping, urging drivers to reduce speed and maintain a sufficient safety distance, to avoid accidents and skidding during rainy weather conditions.
