Khaberni - The Jordanian delegation continued to harvest medals at the Islamic Solidarity Games held currently in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, where the national team's Muay Thai player, Yazan Al-Sayfi, won a bronze medal on Friday, in a new achievement recorded for Jordanian martial arts.
The champion Yazan Al-Sayfi succeeded in proving his merit in the strong Muay Thai competitions which saw participation from a selection of international players.
Al-Sayfi managed to win in the quarterfinals against the strong Turkish player, Bilben, thereby ensuring his advancement to the semifinals and securing the bronze medal, awarded to the third-place players in this sport.
This achievement confirms the rapid advancement of Muay Thai in Jordan, which has started to assert its presence powerfully on regional and international stages.
Al-Sayfi fought the matches with high focus and distinctive technical and physical skills, which contributed to achieving this advanced position in a tournament witnessing fierce competition among the Islamic countries.
Jordan's medal tally rises to 8
With this bronze medal won by Yazan Al-Sayfi, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's count in the Islamic Solidarity Games has risen to 8 colorful medals.
This diversity in medals, which were achieved in various sports, notably karate and Muay Thai, reflects the proficiency that Jordanian athletes possess in martial arts.
