Khaberni - The regulatory authority responsible for market regulation in China issued draft antitrust guidelines on Saturday targeting internet platforms in an attempt to limit unfair competition practices.

The market regulation administration stated in an advisory memo published with the guidelines on its website, "Monopoly risks are common in the platform economy sector."

It added that some market dominance risks include "unfair pricing, below-cost sales, account blocking, 'choose one of two' practices, 'lowest price across the entire network', and discriminatory treatment by the platforms."

The guidelines outline how to identify and assess risks associated with certain actions and algorithms.

The draft will be available for public comment until November 29.
