JD 525 billion in transactions via electronic wallets since the beginning of the year

Khaberni - The report of the Jordanian Company for Payment and Clearing Systems (JoPACC) for October 2025 shows that the value of transactions issued from electronic wallets has reached JD 5.25 billion since the beginning of the year, with about 81.01 million transactions executed through electronic wallet systems.

The report also points out that the total transactions in the Real-Time Payment System (including banks and mobile service providers) amounted to 214.91 million transactions with a total value of about JD 21.61 billion since the beginning of the year.

According to the report, the number of transactions through the JoMoPay system (electronic wallets) in October was 9.45 million transactions, with a total value of JD 573 million.

The number of transactions recorded a monthly increase of approximately 6.7%, while the value of transactions saw a slight decrease of about 0.7% compared to the previous month.

The number of users of electronic wallets reached 2.66 million at the end of October; an increase of 1.4% from the previous month. Jordanians account for about 87.8% of users, compared to 12.2% for non-Jordanians, while the percentage of male users was about 47.1% and females 52.9%.

In terms of the number of transactions, money transfers constitute the largest percentage (84.5%), followed by purchases (14.5%), then cash withdrawals (0.8%) and deposits (0.2%).

In terms of value during October; the value of financial transfers reached JD 445.85 million, the value of purchases was JD 94.01 million, and cash withdrawal operations amounted to JD 11.63 million, while deposits accounted for about JD 3.52 million.

The average value of a transaction via electronic wallets was JD 54.8, compared to an average of JD 111.9 for transactions conducted through bank accounts.

These results reflect the ongoing growth of the electronic wallet sector in Jordan, and its role in enhancing financial inclusion and the shift towards a digital payment ecosystem, by providing easy and secure financial services that help reduce reliance on traditional cash.

"JoMoPay" is an electronic system that enables payment services via mobile through electronic wallets, where electronic wallets are registered on the system to exchange financial transactions between wallets and between bank accounts.
