Khaberni - Last night in the Karmooz area in west Alexandria, there was a horrific murder where a nuclear chemistry engineer fell victim to a shooting incident that sparked widespread outrage and dismay in the Egyptian streets.

According to preliminary investigations, the victim, who was 35 years old, was walking alone in a side street in the area when he was suddenly ambushed by an unidentified person who knocked him to the ground before firing a barrage of bullets from a firearm he possessed. Security sources reported that the perpetrator emptied the entire magazine into the engineer’s body, estimating the number of bullets to be about 13 shots.

After committing the crime, the gunman quickly fled the scene in a "Lada" car that was waiting close to the incident location.

Security actions and intensive investigations

Immediately after the crime occurred, security forces moved to the site and imposed a security cordon around the area, while criminal evidence teams began collecting the spent bullets, lifting fingerprints, and documenting all available data from the crime scene.

The victim's body was transported to Kom el-Dikka morgue for autopsy to precisely determine the number of bullets and the time of death, as well as to analyze the circumstances of the incident and its possible motives.

The security services continue to review the area’s surveillance camera recordings and listen to eyewitnesses who saw the incident, in an attempt to identify the perpetrator and his escape route.

It is expected that the security authorities will issue an official statement in the coming hours clarifying the latest developments in the investigation and the measures taken to uncover the perpetrator and bring him to justice.
