Khaberni - A small cat invaded the German Embassy in Cairo on Wednesday morning, turning the incident into a topic of discussion on social media platforms after the embassy humorously documented the event on its official Facebook page, with significant interaction from users.

The cat surprised the embassy staff who were astonished to see it wandering within the offices and exploring the corners of the building freely before the staff decided to welcome it warmly and give it special attention, considering its visit a good omen at the start of their day.

The embassy published a series of photos of the cat as it moved between offices and sat on tables, accompanied by a comment that read: "A completely normal morning at the German Embassy in Cairo... until a small Egyptian cat decided to visit us and join us in the office."

The embassy added: "Since our visit to the Great Egyptian Museum, we knew that cats in Egypt are not just pets, but symbols of elegance, protection, and a touch of the magic of ancient Egyptian civilization... It reminded us a bit of Bastet, the goddess of joy and protection in ancient Egypt."

The embassy concluded its post: "The new 'embassy cat' may have brought us some luck on our workday."

The photos and comments were liked by thousands of followers who praised the embassy's stance and its cheerful way of interacting with the situation, while others noted that the incident reflects the special historical relationship between Egyptians and cats, which were revered in ancient Pharaonic civilization and symbolized beauty and blessing.
