Barcelona coach completely rejects Messi

Khaberni - The excitement continued regarding the situation of tug of war and the rumors about proposing Lionel Messi’s return to Barcelona.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, as reported by Transfer News Live on X, the Barcelona coach, German Hansi Flick, rejected the idea of Lionel Messi's short-term loan return to the Catalan club, considering such a move unnecessary at this stage of the team's project.

The reports clarified that some parties inside Barcelona saw the potential of benefiting from Messi during the American league's offseason, as his team Inter Miami's season ends early, which might allow him to play temporarily in Europe before the competitions resume in March.

It was pointed out that Flick clearly expressed his rejection of the idea, stressing that the focus should remain on developing the current squad and giving young players the opportunity to prove themselves.

It added: "The German coach sees that any deal of this kind could upset the balance within the dressing room and affect the team's stability, especially as he aims to build a new system based on tactical discipline and collective identity, away from relying on historical names."

Sources indicate that the Barcelona management was open to the idea of temporarily retrieving Messi for marketing and fanbase reasons, yet Flick's firm stance stopped the project in its early stages.

It is worth mentioning that Messi left Barcelona in the summer of 2021 heading to Paris Saint-Germain, before later moving to Inter Miami in the United States, and Barcelona fans still hold the hope of seeing their legend wear the blue and red jersey again.
