Khaberni - Capital Bank announced its joining to the Women's Empowerment Principles linked to the United Nations Women's Agency (WEPs), in a step that reinforces its firm commitment to support gender equality and women empowerment in the workplace, market, and society.
This signature comes in collaboration with the United Nations Women's Agency and the United Nations Global Compact, as part of the bank's vision to provide a fair and inclusive work environment that allows women equal opportunities to assume leadership roles and participate in decision-making that contributes to societal development and building a more inclusive and sustainable economy in Jordan.
Capital Bank CEO, Tamer Ghazaleh, affirmed that this joining reflects the core values by which the bank operates, saying: "We are proud of the presence of women at various levels of our organization, from entry-level positions to executive roles and the board of directors. Equality for us is not just a theoretical principle but a real driver for excellence, innovation, and adaptability. By adopting the Women's Empowerment Principles, we focus on enhancing diversity and inclusion, prioritizing women's representation and developing policies and opportunities that enable everyone to contribute to shaping the future of the banking sector and building a stronger, more sustainable economy in Jordan."
Ghazaleh added that the bank's joining this global initiative confirms its belief that women's empowerment is not just a social responsibility but a smart investment in the future of the institution, the national economy, and society as a whole.
The Women's Empowerment Principles are based on seven key pillars including: leadership support for gender equality, ensuring a discrimination-free work environment, promoting health and safety, education and training for women, business development practices and supply chains, equality through community advocacy, in addition to measurement and periodic reporting.
It is noteworthy that Capital Bank joins more than 5,000 institutions around the world and over 50 companies in Jordan committed to the Women's Empowerment Principles and the goals of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, continuing its leadership role in instilling a culture of inclusion and diversity as a fundamental pillar for institutional success.
