Coronavirus is still in Jordan and the spread of influenza is seasonal

Khaberni - The head of the National Center for Epidemic Control, Dr. Adel Al-Balbisi, stated that the coronavirus is still present in Jordan, but it appears at very low rates.

Al-Balbisi explained in a statement to "Khaberni", based on the results of tests and scientific studies, that the rate of positive COVID-19 cases in 2025 reached about 2.7% out of 4,000 samples analyzed so far, while last year the rate was 3.25%, compared to what it was during the peak of the pandemic when it reached 35%.

Regarding the diseases currently prevalent in the kingdom, Al-Balbisi pointed out that Jordan has actually begun entering the winter season, which is accompanied by the activity of various seasonal viruses, indicating that the situation will become clearer in the coming weeks as temperatures continue to drop and the winter season enters more fully.
