Mourinho Drags Fenerbahçe into Hotel Bill Dispute

Khaberni - Media reports stirred a broad controversy about Portuguese coach José Mourinho during his coaching period in Turkey.

The Portuguese newspaper Record reported from its Turkish counterpart Yeniçag an unusual incident related to Mourinho's previous stay in Istanbul, where it is alleged that "The Special One" left behind a huge hotel bill exceeding 747,000 euros after his departure from Fenerbahçe club.
According to the newspaper, José Mourinho stayed for 15 months in one of the luxurious suites of the "Four Seasons" hotel overlooking the Bosphorus during his time with the Turkish team, where the Portuguese coach preferred living in the hotel instead of renting a private house, due to its luxurious location and the high level of service provided.

The reports add that the hotel management demanded settlement of the accumulated dues, while it is not yet clear who is responsible for the payment, whether Mourinho personally or the Fenerbahçe club, especially since the contract between the two parties did not disclose details of the stay or the party that bears the costs.

The issue has sparked a wave of comments across the media and social networking sites, due to the large amount reached by the bill, and because Mourinho is known for his close relationships with the administrations of the clubs he usually works with.

However, no official comment has been issued by the Portuguese coach or by Fenerbahçe club so far, which leaves the door open for speculation on how the situation will be settled.

This incident puts Mourinho, who is currently coaching Benfica, in a tight spot, waiting for what the upcoming days will reveal about the ongoing issue concerning his hefty hotel bill.
