Khaberni - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said, "We are grateful for France's recognition of the Palestinian state, and we are close to completing the drafting of the interim constitution of the Palestinian state." The Palestinian president clarified that we want a democratic, unarmed Palestinian state, noting that the Gaza Strip is part of the Palestinian state.
Abbas appreciated, during his speech at a press conference with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, the efforts made by US President Donald Trump to stop the war in Gaza, as well as the efforts of mediators to stop the war.
He continued: "The disaster that the Palestinian people in Gaza are suffering must end, affirming that the recognition of the Palestinian state represents a historic turning point and a message of hope for our people who struggle for their freedom and independence."
