Khaberni - The announcement of an Israeli band named "Al Noor" hosting a concert for Umm Kulthum in "Jaffa, Haifa, Beersheba, and others.." during the current November, where the singer Violet Salameh, accompanied by 30 musicians, will perform a selection of songs from the "Star of the East", has caused displeasure and anger among many Egyptians and activists on social media.

The artistic community in Egypt also objected to organizing this celebration on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the passing of Umm Kulthoum. Dr. Medhat El-Adl, head of the Egyptian Authors and Composers Association, stated in press statements that the theft of cultural heritage is a recurring behavior by Israel. He also noted that "El Adl Group" has been experiencing unauthorized theft of their films.

Last year, Umm Kulthoum’s granddaughter, Jihan Desouki, accused a production company of "selling the rights to exploit the songs of the Star of the East to Israel". However, the company denied this at the time, and confirmed that they had purchased the rights to preserve them and prevent others from exploiting them.

It should be noted that the first Israeli channel produced a documentary about the life of Umm Kulthum in 2017, titled "Through Israeli Eyes.. Star of the East Umm Kulthum.", and the film was broadcast at the time in Hebrew, showcasing her political history and her relationship with King Farouk and the late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
