Khaberni - The Department of Statistics released its monthly report on the general consumer price index (inflation), which recorded an increase of 1.87% for the first ten months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

On a monthly level, the consumer price index increased by 2.0% for October 2025 compared with the corresponding month of 2024, and a slight increase of 0.07% (less than one percentage point) for October 2025 compared with September of the same year.

The general consumer price index for the first ten months of 2025 was 112.64 compared to 110.58 for the same period in 2024.

On a monthly level, the general consumer price index for October 2025 was 112.82 compared to 110.61 for the same month in 2024, and the index for October 2025 was 112.82 compared to 112.74 for the previous month in the same year.

According to the commodity groups for the first ten months of 2025 compared with the same period of 2024, the index for the “Personal Belongings” group increased by 22.16%, “Tobacco and Cigarettes” by 11.13%, “Tea, Coffee, and Cocoa” by 9.59%, “Fruits and Nuts” by 8.96%, and “Spices, Flavor Enhancers, and Other Foods” by 4.94%. Meanwhile, the index decreased for the “Vegetables and Dry and Canned Legumes” group by (2.90%), “Household Goods” by (2.87%), “Furniture, Carpets, and Linens” by (2.24%), and “Home Appliances” by (1.68%).

Regarding the commodity groups, the main contributors to the rise in the general consumer price index for October 2025 compared with the same month in 2024 were the “Personal Belongings”, “Tea, Coffee, and Cocoa”, “Fruits and Nuts”, and “Oils and Fats” groups. In contrast, the “Meat and Poultry”, “Household Goods”, “Home Appliances”, and “Vegetables and Dry and Canned Legumes” groups helped reduce the increase.

It should be noted that the calculation of the consumer price index (inflation) is based on a basket of consumables that includes (850) items, among which (325) are food items and (525) are non-food items.
