Khaberni - New leaks have settled the ongoing debate about the launch date of the highly anticipated Galaxy S26 series from the Korean company Samsung, after previous news suggested a delay in its release.

According to the Korean news site ChosunBiz, the company is preparing to hold its global event "Galaxy Unpacked" in late January to officially unveil the new generation of its flagship phones.

As reported by Android Authority from the Korean report, the Galaxy S26 series will hit the markets starting mid-February 2026, which means Samsung has decided to advance the timeline for the launch compared to previous expectations.

Behind the scenes.. Reasons for Accelerating the Launch Despite Challenges
Samsung is speeding up time to launch the new series after a slight delay in the trial phases due to changes in model configuration.

ChosunBiz quoted an internal source from the company saying: "The device verification period was extended after the Edge model was canceled and the Plus model was added, which could have caused a delay in the launch, but the issue was successfully overcome, making the February launch a certainty."

Declining sales of Edge spark Samsung's decisions
Data showed that sales of the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge during the first three months did not exceed 1.31 million units, a 74% decrease compared to the sales of Galaxy S25 Plus, which reached 5.05 million units.

This sharp decline in Edge numbers, despite being the newest and thinnest design, prompted Samsung to rethink the new generation's lineup and distribute the models entirely differently.

Exynos processor at the forefront.. and Snapdragon for the strongest version
Leaks revealed that Samsung decided to use its internal Exynos 2600 processor in the basic and Plus models of the Galaxy S26 series, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra will get a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, which is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

It seems that the reason for this distribution is due to the higher cost of the Qualcomm processor compared with its Korean counterpart, making its use in all models economically unfeasible.

Prices.. An Inevitable Increase
Despite Samsung's success in keeping the prices of the Galaxy S25 series unchanged, the same sources confirmed that the rising cost of components and additional customs duties will lead to an increase in the price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra specifically.

However, the report did not clarify whether this increase will also include the basic and Plus models, or if some markets will get different versions in terms of processor and price.
