Khaberni - The launch of the artificial intelligence video clip application "Sora" for Android was successful.
On its first day on the "Google Play" app store, the artificial intelligence video creation application, by Open AI, the developer behind the chatbot ChatGPT, recorded an estimated 470,000 downloads across all markets where it was available, according to new estimates from "Appfigures," a platform specializing in app data and analytics.
The size of Android's application launch was four times larger than the "iOS" version, which was released first, with a 327% increase in installations, but the company indicates that this is not an accurate comparison, according to a report by "TechCrunch," a technology news website, read by "Al Arabiya Business."
On "iOS," the "Sora" application was only available in the United States and Canada, and it was available by invitation only.
On Android, the application is available in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, and "Open AI" removed the invitation requirement in late October for its main markets.
The application for "iOS" achieved significant success following its launch, despite initially being invitation-only. The "iOS" app registered more than a million installations during its first week and quickly topped the "App Store."
The application still remains among the list of top free iPhone apps in the "App Store" in the United States.
"Sora" allows users to create artificial intelligence-driven video clips through text inputs and share them. These clips can also feature animated images of the users and their friends, through a feature known as "Cameos".
"Appfigures" reviewed its earlier estimates of the first-day downloads for the "Sora" iOS app. Initially, their estimates indicated that the app saw about 56,000 downloads on the first day.
Now, after more time has passed, more accurate estimates from "Appfigures" suggest that the number was closer to 110,000, with about 69,300 installations in the United States.
