Khaberni - Majid Bougherra, coach of the Algerian reserve football team, believes that matches between Arab national teams turn into a "war" due to competitiveness and fierceness, noting that he aims to maintain the Arab Cup, which he won four years ago.
Bougherra, who led Algeria to victory in the previous edition, said in a press conference on Sunday: We will play match by match hoping to get past the first round, and then we will see what happens. All matches will be complicated and all the competitors will try to beat us since we are the champions.
He added: All encounters will be like a derby. When Arabs play against each other, it seems like war, there is a lot of enthusiasm, rivalry, and desire to win. The competition this time will be fiercer than the first edition.
Majid mentioned that he included in his list a number of players who are active abroad, especially in Europe, but their clubs refused to release them, and injuries prevented some others from joining the team.
