Khaberni - The American "Washington Post" reported on Sunday, citing sources that President Donald Trump's threat of military action against Nigeria due to violence against Christians there surprised everyone, even those who advocated for this issue.
The newspaper quoted its sources as saying that American evangelical leaders and prominent Republican Senator Ted Cruz led a campaign that lasted several months to prioritize the issue of Christians in Nigeria for the American administration.
The newspaper clarified that the US leadership in Africa (AFRICOM) informed the Department of War that it has priorities that precede military action against Nigeria, warning that striking an area where the US presence is diminishing, and where sufficient intelligence information is not available, would not be effective.
Trump threatened on the first of November (current) via the platform "Truth Social", Nigeria, with the deprivation of aid; because it allows "extremists" terrorists to kill Christians, confirming that he had directed his orders to the US military to be ready.
