Khaberni - Barcelona’s coach, the German Hansi Flick, confirmed that his team will enter the match against Celta Vigo tomorrow, Sunday, in the 12th round of the Spanish league, aiming for victory before the international break.
Flick added in statements carried by his club’s official site: "Celta Vigo is in a good phase, offering great performance, and might even be in a better position than us, but everything depends on what we deliver. We want to win and enter the break with all three points."
Flick also thanked the club management for their confidence in his abilities, following support messages from club president Joan Laporta and sports director Deco, adding that this is always important for him.
Flick acknowledged his team's mistakes in their last match that ended in a 3-3 draw with Club Brugge in the Champions League last Wednesday: "In that match, we noticed that our defense line was retreating excessively while our forwards were too far forward. We need to be more cohesive whether we have the ball or not. We have talked about it and I hope we can improve."
Flick confirmed the continued absence of goalkeeper Juan Garcia, although he mentioned he is very pleased with his progress and expects him to return to the team after the international break.
However, Barcelona’s official site mentioned that doubts still linger over the participation of French defender Jules Kounde, as he did not complete the team's training preparations for the match.
Barcelona currently holds the second position in the La Liga standings with 25 points, five points behind the leader Real Madrid, while Celta Vigo is in the 12th position with 13 points.
