Khaberni - Federal and state-level health officials in the United States announced on Saturday that they are investigating the poisoning of 13 infants in 10 states due to a baby milk formula that was withdrawn from the market.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated in a release that "By Heart" company agreed to recall two batches of its complete nutrition baby milk formula.
All 13 infants were hospitalized after consuming the milk formula, with no deaths recorded.
The Food and Drug Administration said that it is investigating the cause of the contamination and whether it affected any other products.
The product, available online and through major retailers, represents about 1% of national sales of milk formulas, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A spokesman for "By Heart" has not yet responded to an email seeking comment on Saturday.
