Jordan ranked 85th globally and 8th in the Arab world in terms of average salaries for the year 2025, according to a recent report by CEOWORLD magazine.
The report, according to the Khaberni website, has stated that the average salary in Jordan is $706, equivalent to about 501 Jordanian Dinars.
The report included 197 countries, among them 19 Arab countries, with Switzerland ranking first globally with an average salary of $8218 (about 5826 Jordanian Dinars), followed by Luxembourg, the United States, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Singapore.
In the Arab region, the United Arab Emirates ranks first (17th globally) with an average salary of $3770 (approximately 2677 Jordanian Dinars), while Palestine is at the bottom of the list with an average salary of $104 (about 74 Jordanian Dinars).
The report indicates that the world is going through a difficult economic phase, with the possibility of a recession in the upcoming period.
It also clarified that the highest-paying jobs are concentrated in the fields of finance, insurance, energy, mining, information technology, retail, and education, while management, hospitality, and construction are among the lowest paying sectors.
The report highlighted that high inflation rates in recent years have negatively affected purchasing power, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain disruptions.
It added that geopolitical tensions, such as the Russian-Ukrainian war, competition between the United States and China, tensions in the Middle East, especially the aggression on Gaza, have exacerbated global economic crises.
