Khaberni - "Open AI" faces 7 lawsuits alleging that its “Chat GPT” service drove people to suicide and harmful delusions, even when they had no previous mental health issues.
The lawsuits, filed on Thursday in California courts, accuse the company of wrongful death, aiding suicide, manslaughter, and negligence.
The lawsuits were filed on behalf of 6 adults and one teenager by the Legal Centre for Social Media Victims and the Technology Justice Project.
The lawsuits allege that "Open AI" deliberately released the "GPT-40" model too early, despite internal warnings that it was dangerously psychologically manipulative. Four of the victims died by suicide.
