Khaberni - Minister of Local Administration, Engineer Walid Al-Masri, inspected today, Saturday, the Safawi and Greater Mafraq municipalities to review the level of services and the readiness of the municipalities for the winter season.
During his visit to Safawi municipality, Al-Masri met with municipal employees and listened to a briefing on the progress of work, ongoing projects, financial and administrative procedures, and the challenges facing the municipality. He then conducted a field tour that included several areas, where he reviewed the maintenance works, cleaning of rainwater drainage networks and valley channels in preparation for better winter readiness, and the level of general cleanliness.
The minister visited the site of the blessed tree in Al-Baqa’awiya area, under which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once took shade, instructing the execution of the demands of the officials responsible for the tree site.
In the Greater Mafraq municipality, the minister met with the head of the municipal committee, Mohammad Al-Fayez, and municipal employees, and listened to a briefing on administrative, financial, and service aspects. During a field tour within the municipal boundaries, he reviewed the level of services provided, including visits to the commercial center and several vital areas.
Al-Masri emphasized the importance of continuing to clean valley and flood channels, maintaining rainwater drainage networks, and improving the level of general cleanliness as part of the municipal preparations for the winter season, stressing the necessity to enhance the readiness and capabilities of the municipal technical and administrative staff.
The minister emphasized the importance of citizens benefiting from the recent decision by the Council of Ministers regarding the full exemption from penalties and the discount on the tax on roofed areas and properties, to alleviate the financial burdens on citizens and encourage them to settle their obligations before the end of the year.
