Khaberni - The United Nations stated that settlers executed 264 assaults against Palestinians in the West Bank during last October, marking the highest monthly toll in about 20 years.
Farhan Haq, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, indicated at a press conference a significant increase in Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, according to data from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs "OCHA".
He added that "OCHA recorded last month, 264 attacks, which resulted in the martyrdom of Palestinians, loss of their property, or both," confirming that this figure represents the highest monthly toll in about 20 years.
He noted that the count of Israeli attacks against Palestinians since 2006 reached 6,900, of which 15 percent, approximately 1,500, occurred during the current year.
He pointed out that acts of violence by settlers led to the displacement of 3,200 Palestinians from their land, the martyrdom of many by gunfire, the injury of hundreds more, and many others losing their livelihoods.
The Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations stated that settler attacks typically target Palestinians' trees, vehicles, homes, and their infrastructure.
He added that "OCHA" data also documented the martyrdom of 42 children due to the attacks by the occupation and settlers in the West Bank this year, representing one in every five martyrs.
It is mentioned that the Anti-Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission announced that settler attacks during the past month amounted to 766 attacks, concentrated in the provinces of Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 195 attacks, Nablus with 179 attacks, and Hebron with 126 attacks.
In its monthly report, it indicated that the attacks by settlers led to the martyrdom of the citizen Jihad Mohammed Ajaj (26 years old) from the town of Deir Jarir, in a direct shooting operation by settlers, bringing the number of citizens martyred by settler gunfire since the beginning of the year 2025 to 14 martyrs.
It added that settlers carried out 352 operations of vandalism and theft of Palestinian properties, affecting vast areas of land, and that settler assaults with the assistance of the occupation army led to the uprooting, damaging, and poisoning of 1,200 olive trees.
