Khaberni - Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S26 series next February, with a slight delay due to changes in the model plan, after the company decided to revert its decision to cancel the Plus version and scrap the idea of a new Edge model.
"Samsung" has kept the prices of its flagship phones stable for several years, but new leaks suggest there might be a price increase this time, due to rising costs of key components.
The rise in component prices puts pressure on "Samsung"
The prices of chips have risen by 12% compared to last year, alongside an increase of 8% in camera units and 16% in LPDDR5 memory, according to a report published by "phonearena" and reviewed by "Arabiya Business".
These increases are linked to the rising demand for artificial intelligence components, as manufacturers focus more on producing chips for AI servers than for phones.
Previous leaks indicated that "Samsung" might keep the prices as they are, but the latest reports suggest a possible increase ranging from $50 to $100 for each model in the series.
Comparison with Competitors
Both "Apple" and "Google" have maintained stable prices for their new phones without significant changes.
iPhone 17 prices start at $799, while Pixel 10 starts at roughly the same price, with differences in base storage capacity.
Smart Buying Strategies
Even with the potential price increases, there are still enticing offers at launch, including discounts for trading in old devices or adding a new line through major carriers such as "AT&T", "T-Mobile", and "Verizon".
"Samsung" usually offers easy installment plans that make acquiring the phone easier.
What about the specifications?
Leaks indicate that the series will include three models: Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra.
The standout version, the S26 Ultra, is expected to come with either a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor or an Exynos 2600 depending on the region, along with faster charging up to 60 watts, support for the new Qi2 standard, and an improved main camera.
The basic model, S26, will get a slightly larger screen at 6.3 inches with a slimmer and more stylish design.
Although the improvements are not radical compared to the S25 series, fans of "Samsung" who seek to own the latest technologies might find the S26 a tempting option, even at a higher price.
