Khaberni - The United States lifted sanctions on Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shar` on Friday, the day after the United Nations Security Council took the same stance.
This comes before Al-Shar`'s meeting with US President Donald Trump next week.
The US Treasury Department's website stated in an announcement that the United States has removed the names of Al-Shar` and the Syrian Minister of Interior Anas Khattab from the list of sanctions imposed on global terrorists.
