Khaberni - American president Donald Trump responded on Thursday to Nancy Pelosi's retirement announcement, one of the most prominent American political figures over the past four decades and the first woman to head the House, saying she was "an evil woman who did a bad job".
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, "I think she was an evil woman, she did a bad job, and she cost the country severe losses and a bad reputation. I always thought she was terrible."
He added, "I think she did the country a great service by retiring. I believe she was a heavy burden on the country."
Earlier on Thursday, Pelosi announced she would retire in January 2027 when her current term ends.
She had a poor relationship with Trump who did not hesitate to attack her and nicknamed her "Crazy Nancy", trying to portray her as a clear embodiment of the bad politicians he claims to fight against.
