Khaberni - The Counter-Terrorism Branch in Daraa Governorate executed a well-coordinated security operation, following continuous monitoring and detailed field tracking.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the successful operation which resulted in the arrest of the criminal Saleh Awad Al-Miqdad.
Previously, Al-Miqdad held the rank of colonel at the Air Defense College in Homs province during the rule of the collapsed regime. He is accused of being involved in committing serious assaults against innocent civilians in the southern governorate.
Initial investigations conducted by the security authorities have implicated Al-Miqdad in actively participating alongside the criminal Suhail Al-Hassan in the 2018 military campaign against the people of Daraa Governorate.
The investigations reveal that the former colonel contributed to the planning and execution of attacks that targeted residential areas and public places, resulting in the death of several civilian martyrs. These details add significant weight to the severity of the charges against him.
Referral to the judiciary to take actions
According to legal procedures, the criminal has been transferred to the competent authorities to complete all investigations and gather evidence, in preparation for his referral to the specialized judiciary. This measure aims to take all necessary legal actions against him and achieve justice for the victims affected by his violations.
