Anticipated Meeting between Mohammed bin Salman and Trump

Khaberni - The White House announced that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman intends to visit Washington on November 18th.

This visit marks the second time Mohammed bin Salman has come to the American capital after his initial visit in 2018, following a directive from King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from his American counterpart Marco Rubio last Sunday, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed updates on events in the region.

The two sides discussed the efforts being made regarding these developments, according to a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

US President Donald Trump visited Saudi Arabia in May, which was his first international trip since announcing his new presidential term and his inauguration on January 20th.

Observers described the visit as an indicator of the advanced geopolitical standing that Saudi Arabia now holds, not only as a pivotal player in stabilizing the region but also due to its economic clout and reform initiatives.

Defensive Treaty and Nuclear Cooperation

US Interior Minister Doug Bergum predicted on Sunday that the United States and Saudi Arabia are likely to reach an agreement regarding the Saudi peaceful nuclear program.

Doug linked his expectations to an official state visit planned by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Washington on November 18th.

The American minister, during his participation in the Manama Dialogue 2025, stated that intensive discussions with Saudi officials are ongoing, anticipating "a lot of activity" prior to the visit.

He expressed optimism about the imminent release of "major announcements" and did not rule out that the talks between President Donald Trump and the Crown Prince might culminate in signing an agreement regarding peaceful nuclear cooperation.

"Newsweek" magazine revealed that Saudi Arabia is negotiating a defense treaty with the Trump administration, which would commit Washington to treat any attack on Saudi Arabia as a security threat to the United States. "Financial Times," a British newspaper, reported that the Saudi-American agreement would deepen military and intelligence cooperation between the two countries. It noted that this agreement would have significant implications for the stability of the Middle East region and America’s global strategic position.

It was mentioned that the treaty between the two countries results from Prince Mohammed bin Salman's vision, which considers the security treaty a top priority for Saudi Arabia.

Last month, the "Financial Times" reported a responsible source in the Trump administration saying that the two sides are having talks about "signing something" when the Crown Prince comes to Washington. Earlier, the US State Department described the Saudi-American defense cooperation as "a solid foundation for our regional strategy." It confirmed that Washington would continue to work with the Kingdom to resolve conflicts, promote regional integration, and deprive terrorists of any safe haven.
