Khaberni - Amman Chamber of Industry organized a tour for a Saudi delegation from Tabuk Chamber, led by Engineer Nader bin Hassan Al-Hakami, the head of the Industrial Committee at Tabuk Chamber, to several economic institutions in the city of Aqaba, where the delegation was accompanied by Saad Yasin, a board member of the chamber, and Ashraf Abdel Fattah, the chamber's relations officer.
Yasin explained that the delegation's tour included a visit to Aqaba Container Terminal, where the delegation toured the port's facilities, machinery, and logistical services provided by the port. The delegation also visited Aqaba Port, where they met Dr. Mahmoud Khleifat and listened to a presentation about the services provided by the port, and discussed a proposal to establish a joint area at the borders adjacent to the city of Aqaba.
Yasin added that the delegation visited the Aqaba Customs Department and met with the Director of Aqaba Customs, who gave a comprehensive explanation about the services provided by the Customs Department and how transit containers' entry is facilitated, operating 24 hours a day. The delegation concluded its tour with a visit to the Aqaba Industrial City, where they listened to a presentation about investment opportunities in the area, especially since work is currently underway to establish a new area in Al Quweira,
Yasin pointed out that these meetings, in addition to learning about the services provided by these institutions, included mechanisms of cooperation with the Saudi private sector in terms of facilitating the import of raw materials and final products in transit to Saudi Arabia, as well as exporting final products.
The head of the Saudi delegation, Engineer Nader Al-Hakami, explained that Tabuk region has a special feature regarding its proximity to the Jordanian borders, where service and logistical industries that serve the industrialists in both countries could be established, and the Aqaba Port can also be utilized as a maritime outlet for importing raw materials or exporting products, praising the cooperation of Amman Chamber of Industry with Tabuk Chamber in coordinating this tour in addition to the previous tour made by a delegation from Tabuk Chamber to several factories in the capital Amman.
The Saudi delegation included: Ahmed Attiyah Al-Harthy, Nimir Ahmed Abuzahir, Khaled Basheer Al-Balawi, Ahmed bin Ali Al-Qurai and Fahd bin Masad Al-Aradi.
