Khaberni - The AI Medical Hub team from Middle East University was crowned first place in the Future Health Impact Hackathon, which was held in collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Center and the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP), and in partnership with the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week events.
The team, hosted by the Entrepreneurship Center in the Dean of Students' office, included: Anas Hassan, a student from the College of Information Technology; Mahmoud Al-Khawaldeh, a student from the College of Information Technology; and Mahmoud Hammam, a student from the College of Engineering.
The team was coached by Professor Maria Yousuf from the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, in collaboration with faculty members.
This achievement came after a strong competition involving more than thirty teams from various Jordanian universities. During the competition, the Middle East University team presented their innovative project, AI Medical Hub, which is a cloud-based artificial intelligence system (AI SaaS Platform). It serves as an aid to physicians in analyzing breast medical images and detecting early indicators of breast cancer, utilizing continual learning and deep learning technologies to enhance the accuracy of medical decisions and reduce the likelihood of diagnostic errors.
